NYC NY, October 1, 2007 Broadway Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Nacho Murillo.

The artist is due to complete some of his works during his stay in NYC at Broadway Gallery where we anticipate an impelling progression of his most recent series. Murillo most recently completed a residency program in Beijing where his work took on a new twist.

Murillo’s ongoing work focuses on the concept of the act of drinking coffee is as just that: action repeated (complacently) ad infinitum.  It is a body of work
consisting of a numerous paintings of the coffee cup.  Taken as whole, the series grossly exaggerates the common object to the point where viewers are forced to reconsider ideas of ritual and the object, as it moves across color and media.
